Visiting the "Wild Animal Park" in Minnesota

We went with Robbie, Jami, Cooper and Lillian to the "Wild Animal Park" in upper Minnesota this summer while were at the lake.  Now we were wondering what type of a Wild Animal Park would be present in the middle of nowhere Minnesota.  It was actually a pretty neat facility and the animals are well cared for.  They may not have the fanciest rooms to stay it but it seems safe and the animals all seemed happy and FAT!   Unfortunately unwanted zoo animals can end up in pretty dreary situations so we enjoyed the experience for what it was and had a great time feeding the zoo life!

One of our favorite animals was the kangaroo.  I mean where else do you get to hand feed a kangaroo?!?  He was very nice and was so gentle with Keagan.  It was really cute as he had his own recliner in his enclosure and looked so comfy!

There was also this herd of wild deer that we had heard were a little aggressive last year.  It sounded like they just mobbed you once they realized they you had food for them.  This year they pretty much stayed away.  They may have been still nervous as a huge storm had come through the week before and taken out half of the huge trees in the pasture.

But there were a few deer hanging out on the round bales.  Daddy petted the deer first and in return it gave Keagan a kiss :)  He wasn't so sure this was a great thing but it turned out to be a cute picture.

There were a number of big cats at this park as well.  We did not get to feed them but they were happy in the shade enjoying a cat nap.  Keagan seemed to understand they were cousins of his kitties at home!
Now these were some of the fattest bears I have ever seen.  The way we fed all the zoo animals was to purchase bags of food and send the kernals down the PVC pipe to the cage so the animals could pick it up and eat it if they were hungry. As you can see in this picture the bears just sat at the end of the pipe and just ate everything!  They just lounged and enjoyed being FAT!

Last of all were the camels.  I was just happy they did not spit on us!  It was a great day at the "ZOO"
