Hello Hawaii! |
Daddy decided to take the Yu family to Hawaii to celebrate our first son Keagan as well as the other little man on the way. Frequent flier miles helped get us to Maui and Grandma and Grandpa Hanson helped us enjoy our time on the Hawaiian island by helping take care of Keagan while we were off snorkeling or enjoying a romantic dinner. Keagan thoroughly enjoyed the time in the sunshine and did not even mind the incredibly long flights to get there and back. On our way out we got up very early so he slept most of the plane ride. Our overnight flight back worked well for all of us:)

On our first day we got up to watch the sunrise over Halealaka - the volcano. Keagan completely agreed as it was a little hard for him to adjust to the new time change 4 hours behind us. He would go to bed very early but usually was up before the sun every day. We did not mind as we enjoyed getting up to go snorkeling in the morning so he was a great alarm clock!

Is the sun up yet mom?!? |

3 generations up hi in Maui |
We went snorkeling almost every day but also did other fun things like visit the Banyan Tree in Lahaina. Keagan was completely enthralled with the birds in Maui - mostly the chickens and pigeons - but can you blame him! He loved watching the birds and trying to get the Banyan Tree roots.

Hawaii has awesome food as well as beautiful landscapes |

Dad - I am going to get the Banyan tree root! |
While Keagan would still get up every morning, Grandma and Grandpa were early risers as well and started taking Keagan for beach walks in the morning to let mom and dad rest a little longer. Talk about the benefits of paying your babysitters well! I guess inviting them along to Maui was a great idea for everyone. Keagan enjoyed running down the beach and sticking his fingers down the little crab holes. He enjoyed his time with Grandma and Grandpa very much!
Keagan had such a good time in Maui he was always goofing off. He gave the camera a big hug for taking him to Maui. While laughing at the idea that he needed sunglasses. They did not stay on long but he always stood still for the suntan lotion.
Of course our Maui vacation was not complete with out seeing Green Sea Turtles. We found this amazing bay where there were just turtles everywhere. Keagan would see the turtle heads and point to their location. It is amazing how much he understands even if he doesn't say much yet!

Look mom there is the turtle |

Although we went to luau Keagan thought this hula girl was a little more his speed. I think he will be a ladies man when he grows up!
Thank you daddy for taking us on vacation!
