Easter...A little Late

So, I was looking back at my pictures and realized I hadn't posted about Easter.  I worked on Easter Sunday and time just flew by as we were preparing to go home later that week. So here is a recap!

Keagan and I enjoyed our first Easter Egg Hunt at the Clubhouse in our housing division the weekend before Easter.  It was great getting to know the other families out here in the country - since we all have at least 5 acres - we don't see one another very often if we don't make it a priority.  Keagan was the youngest child at the hunt but he didn't seem to mind.  He thought the other kids were crazy though when they didn't cry when they sat with the Easter Bunny.  Keagan just looked at me like, the man in the bunny suit is just not normal Mom.

The youngest kids got to hunt for eggs first.  Keagan only found 2 - and thought the rocks were even more interesting but hey he is only 11 months old!  One kid saw the second egg while we were slooooowly walking over to it.  The other little boy said maybe he should let the baby have it but we made a compromise.  We explained Keagan wouldn't eat the candy, so the boy could have the candy if Keagan could "find" the egg.  "What a great deal" the little boy said!

Once the hunt was over we discovered that some of the eggs had a ticket in them instead of candy.  We did not find any tickets but Keagan was eyeing the little trucks that were some of the prizes.  A little girl who had gotten many of these tickets came over and asked Keagan if he would like  a ticket so he could get a truck.  We agreed and got a little yellow truck.  Then another little boy showed Keagan how to play with it.  Overall it was a great Easter Egg Hunt where we learned the art of sharing and being nice to one another.

Not to try and out-do the Easter egg hunt at the Clubhouse, but we decided to have our own Easter Egg hunt at home as well.  This was Jeff's first time coloring hard boiled eggs so we had a blast.  We even decorated the eggs special just for Keagan.  He loved it but we soon discovered the beauty of plastic eggs.  The shells don't crack and get messy!

Oh...The Grandparents

Keagan and I just got back from WI last night and today he is in grandparent withdrawl.  He had such a good time falling asleep in great-grandma Charline's arms, crawling all over Grandpa Roger and showing Grandma Diane how to mow the carpet with his lawn mower that she picked up for him.  Today has been a tough day for him but we made a stop to Goodwill and got him his own lawn mower.  We also got one for John's house but Keagan was more excited to see John...and his Tonka truck!  We have tried to go outside and play in the lawn but we can't exactly pet the grass like we did back in WI.  Those pine needles can hurt his little hands. We haven't visiting the mooing cows or the jumping little lambs. There are no chickens to steal eggs from here.   His horses are a little scary - and he can't wait for his pony Anne to join us.   Overall he was very happy to see his daddy, his doggie and those kitties...but there is nothing like the love from his grandparents.

A Professional Shopper?

Mountain Bluebird outside our window this morning.

Keagan in his snowsuit at 1 month old - my how fast they grow!

...48 hours earlier walking around in the front yard

I am amazed at the forecast today.  It is the beginning of April and they are sad to announce it is a cool 60 degrees out there.  I think for April this is great, but it has been in the 70-80's last week, so I understand...but the 4 inches of snow we got yesterday sure do help the grass grow in the pasture.  For a snowy day activity Keagan helped me buy groceries at the store today. First it started out with wanting to punch the numbers on the credit card machine.  That is a little scary to give the little one control of the credit card.  So we decided he could do something more helpful - push the cart.

We start out in the cart, but he can wiggle himself out soooo fast!

Helping to pick out his favorite food  - bananas!

Watch out world - here comes Keagan with his cart!

Sometimes we get distracted by all the fun stuff to pull off the shelves.

Keagan has been practicing with the stroller, his car, his train, his little person shopping cart and his new fire truck at home, but the grocery store cart is just so much bigger and therefore that much more fun.  So many fun things to do for free and we make so many people happy by doing silly stuff!
