Mobile Alert!

Happy Keagan

Whoa!!!  Was that just Keagan whizzing by in his walker? Slam, Slam... Is he opening all the drawers in the kitchen again?  Splish, Splash...Do I hear water splashing again?  I keep thinking each stage of Keagan's life is the best one so far, but this stage just has me laughing.  He has become lightening fast at crawling...can lift himself up onto just about anything and is contemplating walking.  He hangs on to things and looks across to the next table, thinking do I need to get down and crawl or should I walk.  So far he is being a little bit of a chicken and usually stays safe with the crawling, but he is getting bolder by the day.  He is starting to ditch the walker as it blocks him from some things he wants to get to.  Instead we lift him out of the walker and he just climbs all over it.  We think calling him "monkey" and feeding him bananas really has made him into a monkey.  Maybe we should cut back....

John has Keagan sized cabinets to play with!

No mom, I did not just get in trouble again!

As I referred to earlier, Keagan is always getting into water of some sort now that he is mobile.  Usually when we hear the splish splash he is knocking over the dog water bowl.  It is still amazing to him every time when he plays with the water, it eventually comes out of the bowl and gets him all wet.  Then the tears start.  We are not sure if he is crying because he is wet or that all the water is on the ground and he can't play with it anymore.  So needless to say, we hide the water bowls away from Keagan as much as we can and still let Hannah be able to get to it.  At least the cats can jump up to get away from those little fingers.  Poor Hannah :(

On his way to water somewhere!

Should I walk...or crawl?

Look Mom, I can move the train, push button AND it opens up.

One benefit to his fascination with water is that it has been relatively easy to teach him how to wash his hands.  This is a great skill to have as he is constantly getting dirty and picking up everything.  He also loves baths.  So I guess it isn't bad...  We just need to go to the store to get those tricky toilet seat holders to keep THAT water away from his hands :)

What a Day!

Father and Son

Teething Fool:)
Keagan and I have both come down with a little cold.  Combined with 6 teeth coming in all at once, Keagan has been a little fussy.  Can't really blame the little guy:(  He is a very cuddly little baby to begin with, but when he is hurting...all he wants to do is be held - by mommy...only.  Ask John who tried to help him out while I gave Hannah a bath after swimming through mud soup at the dog park.  So while I have been running on 30 minutes of sleep at a time and have no clue what day it is (I think today is Sunday and we are going to church later this morning...but I thought yesterday afternoon was Sunday as well so I could be wrong) Jeff came home on Friday night and said we got some interesting mail.  While I was looking through the latest offers from Babies-R-Us, I noticed a lone piece of paper, so I picked it up.  It was a congratulation letter (actually it states "we would like to extend our heartiest congratulations") for being accepted into the college of veterinary surgeons as Jeff had passed his board exam.  Needless to say he got out our bottle of champagne and did a little family dance in the kitchen.  It is a big sigh of relief that Jeff finished all the requirements and now is officially Mr. Surgeon.  I hope it doesn't go to his head:)

YEAH! Daddy passed his exam

Happy Valentines Day

Do you see my first tooth?

Car rides are boring.  I need my water bottle to keep me entertained.

Kermit photos at 9 months

Well this was the best valentine's day yet as little Keagan had just turned 9 months old.  Of course we packed him up and out to dinner we went at the Broker in downtown Denver.  It was a very nice evening.  Romantic...maybe not so much as in years past.  But, that is fine with me.  Having a baby is so much better than a quiet night at home.  We all got dressed up for V-day dinner so here is some pictures of our big event.  Jeff keeps striving for him to look at the camera and smile.  Life is too interesting so just sit and look at a flashing camera.  So...we tried:)

Mommy and her Valentine

Yesterday we went to see Dr. Avner for his 9 month appointment.  My Joe average fell short - litterally - this time.  So far he has been at 50% for all of his measurement, but he is only 28 inches and falls into the 35% for height.  Jeff said "what can you expect - he is Asian!"  But his head and weight (19lbs 11 oz)  are right at 50% again.  So maybe he will have a growth spurt soon.

Learning how to shop with Mommy

Peek-a-boo

Keagan seemed to love Dr. Avner and was showing off his skills.  Even Dr. Avner was impressed with his ability to stand unassissted and proceeded to give us the talk about how walking is right around the corner and do we have the house baby-proofed?!?  We will be entering a whole new ball game very soon. I hope that we are ready :)!

Good-bye until next time

Big Brother

Trusty suitcase on the stroller trick!

What...I will be good on the plane ride mom!
Keagan traveled in style this weekend.  I was shocked at how many people wanted to help us out.  I think Keagan would just give them his killer smile and we had people lining up to help us.  This of course started with John taking us to the airport and giving us the bungee cord to attach the suitcase to the front of the stroller.  Other than unloading everything for the x-ray machine, it was a very simple way to travel. And when you have such an easy baby on the plane, it just makes things even easier.  On the way out we had passengers coming up to us and remarking that they didn't hear a word and he was just the best baby ever.  Way to make the momma proud:)

Keagan got to play the role of big brother while visiting baby Andrew out in Pennsylvania this past weekend. We had a fantastic time of relaxing in the nice 50 degree weather while our house in Colorado got 22 inches of snow dumped on it. Keagan really seemed to like being the "big" brother. He immediately went over and started touching Andrew. Now, at times it was a little rough and Andrew- The Saint- seemed to enjoy the rough-housing. A few times he did have enough and started to cry, but as soon as his awesome mommy Tera picked him up he stopped crying.

The boys seemed to enjoy their car rides - except when Keagan had his meltdowns - to have fun on trails of Pennsylvania.  Tera and I enjoyed the fresh air while the boys slept for the most part. That is when Keagan wasn't having a meltdown.  Those darn teeth really set him back at times and were bugging him at the worst times.

When the boys weren't playing on the activity mat ( or in Keagan's case attemping CPR on awake baby Andrew) , they were enjoying the exersaucer.  Keagan has outgrown anything that doesn't let him run ( and I do mean run) around.  But he liked showing Andrew how to play with all the toys on his saucer.  Andrew was a quick study and his first time in the saucer he was spinning the wheel and talking to the tiger like Keagan showed him.
In closing, I wish I lived closer to my good friend Tera.  Baby Andrew is already growing up so fast - I suppose the same could be said of little Keagan as well.  It is great to have a friend to talk about being a mom and how it changes your life for good and bad. I am so lucky to have many mommy friends in Colorado and all over the country.  I wish I had time to visit all of the babies out there!
