Oh my...were did September go? Keagan (and I) have learned so much in the last month. I guess just didn't have time to sit at the computer. Our lives changed completely when I went back to work. Keagan loves being with his daddy while I am at work, but he missed me as well. He has been a good sleeper since 6 weeks old with a few ups and downs, but when he didn't see me all day... 2 am seemed like a great time to get some alone time with his mommy. So, I went back to being exhausted plus trying to communicate with adults again while attempting to save pets lives. Good thing I came already equipped with how to handle sleepless nights and work as a health care provider from my prior days of being an equine vet. But, I love visiting with my clients and they are so excited I am back, it makes every day worth it. It doesn't hurt that Banfield is working with my schedule and allowing me to work 3 days every other week. So I am grateful I have a job and a schedule that is allowing me to try and be good both at being a mom and a veterinarian.

Part of the reason I haven't had time to write on the blog is that we have been very busy both with watching Keagan grow quickly as well as being on the road again. For a recap we learned how to appreciate" daddy and Keagan time", we learned that Keagan really likes the bats at the zoo, we went up a mountain, we went down a mountain, grandma and grandpa came to Colorado, grandma and grandpa had to go back to WI, grandma and grandpa can be here via the phone or Skype but Keagan can't find them in the room...but he hears them:), toes are tasty, tummy time is over and rolling has begun, Keagan is addicted to jumping... especially at church and Keagan is still a Momma's boy. We will expound on those topics in future blogs.
But today's topic is tasty toes. I thought it was adorable when he first managed to get the toes all the way to his mouth. Little did I know how this would change the diapering procedure. It is difficult both to remove the dirty diaper and put on a new one when there is an encircling leg/arm combo in the picture. He just giggles when I try to remove the offending appendage while simultaneously removing or replacing the diaper. All I can do is laugh with him and just do more dirty laundry. Having a child makes me remember how funny life can be, even in challenging times. And I was blessed with a happy giggly child that often times tries to make me laugh!
