I am sorry I have been really bad about posting lately. I am not sure where times goes. I have been feeling a little under the weather...more on that later. But, Keagan had just the best first birthday party I could have imagined for him. I was actually a nice day, but cold (only in the low 50's). BUT, it was not snowing 2 feet like last year when he was born, although it was snowing a small amount the day before. And the rain waited until Mother's Day.

The party when off without a hitch partly in thanks to my mom and dad who helped us clean up the house and prepare the party food. We had an amazing group of friends to help us celebrate Keagan's first birthday. His buddy Kaelyn was here to help show him how to play with his new toys and new friend Mackenzy helped him play with his dog Hannah who was behind the bars to the basement. Keagan felt like the star of his party and was constantly in motion "talking" to everyone. He didn't even feel the need to be with me the whole time, which is sort of amazing.
Keagan and I with the amazing lamb cake that Grandma Diane hand decorated for his first birthday. Since the theme was a farm party we also had "Cow Pies" and Cow Tales for our guests to take home! |
But, party life takes its toll. By 4:15, 15 minutes past the end of the party, Keagan was rubbing his eyes and looking exhausted. I laid him down for a nap and he crashed for over 2 hours. Grandpa said it was the first of many parties that he will pass out at! When he woke up all of his buddies were gone but grandma and grandpa were still here so everything was ok.
Overall it was a great day and everyone was so generous with their gifts. Thank you to everyone who sent Keagan well wishes on his very first birthday!
